ENDORSEMENTS

and notes on my service and leadership

State Senator Jamie Edridge

Middlesex and Worcester, State Senator 2009-present; State Representative 2002-2009

Thank you, Senator Eldrige, for your comments! I am thrilled!

"I am excited that Radha Gargeya is running to serve on the Sudbury Select Board. I worked with Radha during his time on the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee, and found him to be an excellent public servant, who successfully advocated for increased state aid for Lincoln Sudbury' High School. He, as Chair of the LS School Committee, worked with me and other legislators, to obtain the highest SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) for the L-S Solar Canopy from MA DOER (Department of Energy Resources). Radha is a very thoughtful, forward-looking candidate, and will represent the people of Sudbury very well. State Senator Jamie Edridge"

State Representative Carmine Gentile

13th Middlesex

Thank you, Representative Gentile, for your support and endorsement! I am honored!

"I have known Radha Gargeya for many years and found him to be thoughtful, intelligent, a good listener, and someone who works cooperatively with others on important goals for the common good. As a former member and chair of the Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School Committee he demonstrated a keen ability for pro-active leadership, worked well with other members as well as members of the school administration, staff, parents, and students. LS benefitted from his leadership. I have been fortunate to live in Sudbury for much of my life and served on various Sudbury boards, trusts, councils, commissions, and committees for decades (and in the legislature for ten years) and value having a Select Board that best represents the will of we, the people. I am voting for Radha Gargeya for Select Board, confident that he will work hard, thoughtfully, and make sound decisions that we will be proud of. Representative Carmine Gentile"

Thank you, John! I am humbled and honored to receive your support. We worked together on so many issues while you were on the Select Board and in your other roles for our town, and while I was on the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee – all to our common goals of providing the best education and care for our children and managing our town’s finances in a responsible manner and enhancing our quality of life.

"I am proud to announce my support for Radha Gargeya for Sudbury Select Board. As a nearly 50 year resident of Sudbury and former elected official (Planning Board 3 years, Selectman 27 years), I have watched our community grow to the incredible place it is today. As both an elected official and active volunteer for the Town, I have worked with Radha on numerous issues relative to making Sudbury the amazing place it is to live. Vote for Continued Progress: Elect Lisa Kouchakdjian and Radha Gargeya

Thank you, Jen, for your support!
During your two terms on the Select Board, your hard work, collaboration, professionalism, and respectful dialogue shone through resulting in a town enhanced. Sudbury today, and of many tomorrows, can benefit from the rail trails, the Fairbank Community Center, and the sustainability actions due to your steadfast service and financial stewardship.
Your appreciation of our town’s excellent staff – and their efforts in serving all of us - is important and will be valued.
Your commitment to inclusion and your measured and respectful voice serve as a model.
Thank you, Jen!

"... To ensure that Sudbury remains on this path of progress and can face challenges, we need experienced, principled leadership on the Select Board. That is why I am supporting Lisa Kouchakdjian and Radha Gargeya. Both candidates bring a wealth of municipal experience—Lisa from her tenure on the SPS School Committee and her first term on the Select Board, and Radha from his leadership on the L-S School Committee and Sudbury’s 250th Committee. Importantly, they embody the values that I believe most Sudbury residents want to see in our leaders. ..."

Gargeya for Sudbury Select Board

Thank you, Ellen, for your endorsement!
I worked alongside Ellen when she was on the Sudbury School Committee and later when she joined me at the Lincoln Sudbury School Committee. I hold her in high regard and admire her indefatigable service on behalf of our children’s education and care. Fun fact: she may be the only person who not only graduated from Lincoln Sudbury but also served as the Chair of both SPS and LS School Committees.
I am touched by your support, Ellen!

"I enthusiastically endorse Radha Gargeya for the Sudbury Select Board. Radha’s intelligence, integrity, and insight are just what the Board needs at this time. ...
Radha has impressed me with his dedication to Sudbury, his intellectual curiosity, and his deep kindness and concern for others. I appreciate Radha’s considered approach to making difficult decisions – he takes time to understand the issues, consider different options and perspectives, listen to stakeholders, and then make the decision that he believes best for those he serves. ...
Radha is smart, measured, and thoughtful. I cannot think of anyone more qualified to serve on the Sudbury Select Board."

Thank you very much for your support, Kirsten!
I have known Kirsten for many years. There are but a select few in our town of whom it can be said, “they built our town” – Kirsten is one of them. Kirsten Roopenian was a Select Board member for two terms; served our schools in various capacities and helped as the newer schools were being built; is a founding member of the Sudbury 9/11 Memorial Garden Committee, and Hope Sudbury; served on the Capital Advisory Committee; and worked in our town’s Planning and Conservation departments. She now serves on our Community Preservation Committee. I am looking forward to her joining the Planning Board, where she will lend her deep knowledge and experience as Sudbury continues its efforts to implement the masterful Master Plan, and bring impetus to the Route 20 economic development work. I am humbled and honored to receive your endorsement!

Trustworthy leadership for Sudbury’s Future

Thank you so much, Candace, for your thoughtful comments about the responsibilities of local leaders. I value and cherish your remarks about my service on the L-S School Committee. Thank you!

"I served with Radha on the Lincoln Sudbury Regional School Committee. In fact, Radha’s leadership in making the LS solar canopy a reality was a factor in our move to Sudbury. ...
It continues to generate more than $100,000 per year in energy costs and offsets 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually. That is quite a legacy for a School Committee member. ...
When I joined the committee, Radha was among the few members who fully understood regional finances and how they differed from single-town districts. He generously and repeatedly explained budgeting processes, funding methods, statutory assessments, and the roles of member towns in contributing to the budget."
